Financial Accountant & Business Partner

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant / Business Partner to join our finance team and support a subsidiary company. You will act as a trusted adviser to senior managers, help interpret performance drivers, and promote financial discipline across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly accounts, workpapers, and reconciliations.
• Partner with senior leadership to analyse results, identify improvement opportunities and present findings.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and tax advisors.
• Collaborate on group‑wide finance projects and initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years experience in a chartered accounting firm or similar professional services environment.
• Tertiary degree or diploma in accounting or finance.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) designation.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Proactive, solution‑focused attitude and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Accounting software (e.g., ERP or similar packages).
• Knowledge of New Zealand tax requirements.
• Familiarity with current accounting standards.
