Electronics Testing Engineer

About the role

Gallagher is seeking an experienced Electronics Testing Engineer to own the way products are validated on the production floor. You will design and build test systems that directly influence product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction, working closely with R&D, NPI, and manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and construct high‑quality production test fixtures and equipment.
• Collaborate with R&D and NPI teams to ensure new products are testable, scalable and production‑ready.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for all test equipment.
• Provide rapid on‑site support to resolve test system issues and keep production on target.
• Document fixture updates, script changes and ECN records.
• Source components and manage relationships with external suppliers for test equipment.
• Uphold a safe, organised workspace following 6S principles.
• Contribute ideas for continuous improvement of testing processes.

Required profile

• NZCE (or equivalent) in Electronics or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience in electronics testing, production engineering or a similar role.
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting abilities.
• Hands‑on experience building, modifying or maintaining test setups or fixtures.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive mindset with a commitment to quality and safety.
