About the role
The Centre for Irish and Scottish Studies at the University of Otago invites applications for a two‑year, full‑time Eamon Cleary Postdoctoral Fellowship in Irish Studies. The fellowship begins in February 2027 and offers a salary of $92,350 per annum.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead an independent research project in Irish studies.
- Participate actively in the Centre’s events, conferences, and public engagement activities.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of workshops, symposia, and festivals.
- Disseminate research findings through publications and presentations.
Required profile
- PhD or equivalent doctorate in Irish studies or a closely related discipline.
- Strong record of research relevant to Irish literature, history, politics, sociology, diaspora or related fields.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
