Design Lead - Geotechnical

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Design Lead – Geotechnical to provide technical leadership across the planning, design and delivery of geotechnical solutions for major infrastructure projects in the ANZ region. You will shape innovative engineering solutions, mentor a multidisciplinary team and ensure safe, sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of geotechnical solutions for large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Direct complex assessments, analysis and design of foundations, earthworks, retaining structures and slope stabilisation.
• Develop ground improvement strategies and advise on construction methodologies.
• Oversee geotechnical investigations, interpret ground conditions and conduct risk assessments.
• Provide technical leadership during delivery and construction phases.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants and key stakeholders.
• Contribute to tenders, methodologies and technical proposals.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent within the business.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience delivering complex geotechnical design solutions for major infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder interfaces.
