About the role
Rocket Lab’s Machine Shop is looking for a skilled CNC Operator to produce high‑precision parts for rockets and satellites. You will work with state‑of‑the‑art CNC equipment, turning engineering designs into flight‑ready hardware.
Key responsibilities
- Manufacture components for rockets and satellites using CNC machinery.
- Perform all machine‑setting tasks, including vice and chuck change‑overs.
- Set work coordinate systems, load tools, and conduct measurements.
- Monitor cutting conditions and make real‑time adjustments.
- Inspect finished parts for quality and compliance.
- Maintain CNC equipment to ensure continuous production.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- High level of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Adherence to standardized processes and thorough record‑keeping.
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, motorsports, marine or similar sectors is a plus.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi CNC controls.
- CAD design competency.
- Experience machining stainless steel and composite materials.
