About the role
The Technical Custodian supports the delivery of sound and visual services for events at Otara Music Arts Centre (OMAC). This 24‑hour per week permanent role involves technical assistance, equipment maintenance, and ensuring safe practice for staff and users.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance for events and programmes, including sound and lighting support.
- Handle recording studio enquiries and support hirers.
- Assist with event delivery, hospitality and hosting duties as required.
- Maintain and perform quality control on audio, live and recording equipment.
- Ensure safe usage of centre facilities and equipment.
Required profile
- Excellent communicator and team player with strong customer service and organisational skills.
- Ability to take direction, work under pressure and follow safety procedures.
- In‑depth knowledge and experience in sound and/or lighting for stage and live events.
- Capability to design sound and lighting to client specifications and operate events technically.
- NZ residency or valid work permit and a clean NZ driver’s licence.
