Technical Administrator - Hydro

About the role

This Technical Administrator position sits at the heart of Contact Energy's South Island hydro scheme, supporting crews, engineers and asset teams. Based in Clyde, you will ensure drawing systems, CAD libraries and plant documentation are accurate, accessible and ready for future needs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve drawing repositories, CAD standards and plant labelling systems.
• Keep critical plant data and technical documentation up to date.
• Support project QA, change‑management processes and documentation reviews.
• Work on‑site across hydro assets, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Identify and implement smarter ways of working to enhance safety and efficiency.

Required profile

• Strong computer literacy and confidence working with technical systems.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data.
• Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and work autonomously.
• Clear communication skills and ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
• Proactive, curious and motivated to continuously improve processes.

Required skills

• Experience using CAD systems or technical drawing tools.
• Exposure to SAP or similar asset‑management systems.
• Knowledge of document control, drawing standards and technical libraries.
