Software Specialist – Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

Join ASB's Core Tribe within the Digital and Engineering Practice as a Software Specialist – SRE. You will be responsible for building and maintaining an end‑to‑end integrated testing environment, working hands‑on with squads across multiple tribes and platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and provision the E2E integrated testing environment from scratch, both on‑premises and in the cloud.
• Collaborate with service/application squads to host and configure their workloads.
• Create test data while ensuring production data is not used.
• Support squads on environment issues that fall outside their remit.
• Automate infrastructure deployments in Azure and on‑prem using Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools.
• Implement security remediation and detection automation, and produce SOPs, knowledge‑base articles, dashboards and reports.
• Monitor, alert and report on environment health.
• Take ownership of issues to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Required profile

• Proactive problem‑solver with strong communication skills.
• Comfortable presenting technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• 5–7 years of SRE or related DevOps experience.

Required skills

• Experience with Azure cloud services and on‑prem infrastructure.
• Hands‑on with GHES, Octopus Deploy and CI/CD pipeline creation.
• Proficiency in Git and TFS source control.
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code expertise (e.g., Terraform).
• Working knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases.
• Automation of security remediation, monitoring, alerting, dashboards and reporting.
