Senior Business Analyst – Data Delivery

About the role

ANZ is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join its Data Delivery team in Wellington. You will work at the intersection of business and engineering, turning complex problems into clear, data‑driven solutions that add real value to the bank and its customers.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business needs into data requirements, including flow diagrams, user stories, mappings and business rules.
• Work hands‑on with data using SQL to explore, validate and test datasets.
• Define source‑to‑target mappings and transformation logic for data warehousing.
• Maintain and refine Confluence documentation and Jira backlogs to keep delivery on track.
• Facilitate workshops, align stakeholders and manage expectations.
• Identify risks, dependencies and impacts early in the delivery cycle.
• Support and mentor colleagues within the BA community.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities with an agile mindset.
• Experience delivering data or technology projects as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
• Proven ability to engage stakeholders and communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Curiosity and a passion for continuous learning.
