Research Analyst – Remote Contract (up to $100/hr)

About the role

Mercor is seeking a remote Research Analyst to evaluate AI‑generated responses and improve model reasoning. This contract position offers up to $100 per hour and allows you to work independently with leading AI research teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assess AI‑generated outputs for reasoning quality and rigor.
• Provide structured, written feedback to enhance training data and downstream performance.
• Craft clear, precise, evidence‑based rationales that go beyond surface‑level observations.
• Collaborate asynchronously with research teams to ensure dataset consistency and coverage.
• Meet deadlines while working independently and maintaining high attention to detail.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from a top‑100 globally ranked university (preferred).
• Native English fluency with strong analytical and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow detailed guidelines, and apply strict judgment.
• Excellent critical reading ability to detect nuance, implicit meaning, and gaps in reasoning.
• Commitment to honest, constructive assessments without using AI writing tools.
