Registered Nurse – Community Health (Warkworth/Wellsford)

About the role

Plunket is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Northern region team, primarily serving families in the Warkworth and Wellsford communities. This permanent full‑time role offers flexible working days and involves both home visits and clinic appointments, providing holistic, culturally appropriate care to infants and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct home and clinic visits to assess the growth and development of infants (tamariki).
• Provide clinical advice and social support to families, ensuring safe and healthy home environments.
• Build trusting relationships with caregivers, delivering culturally responsive care.
• Adapt to a dynamic schedule, managing multiple family appointments and unexpected changes.
• Collaborate with the wider Plunket team to maintain high‑quality service delivery.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Hold a clean or restricted NZ driver’s licence.
• Commitment to complete a 12‑month Post‑Graduate Certificate in Well‑Child Tamariki Ora (cost covered).
• Resilient, adaptable and able to make independent decisions in a community setting.

Required skills

• Active listening and effective communication with families.
• Ability to assess infant health and development.
• Knowledge of culturally appropriate care practices.
