About the role
Join Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Penrose facility in Auckland as a Quality Control Technician. You will support the development of life‑changing drugs and vaccines by performing QC testing and releasing products in a GMP‑compliant cleanroom environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform QC analyses, record observations, and interpret results according to standard procedures.
- Enter, analyze, and trend QC data in both paper and electronic formats.
- Maintain stock, ensure proper storage conditions for samples and chemicals.
- Prepare, review, and issue quality control documentation such as SOPs and standard forms.
- Communicate findings across departments and support internal customers.
- Conduct investigations, root‑cause analysis, and CAPA for deviations or OOS events.
- Participate in training, PPI activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform microbiological and biochemical tests and other laboratory activities while adhering to safety and PPE requirements.
Required profile
- Tertiary science qualification.
- Experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of QC laboratory methods, QA practices, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 9000).
- Ability to work in a GMP cleanroom and follow strict safety protocols.
