Production Technician – Bedding Manufacturing

About the role

Join Sleepyhead’s bedding production team at the Otahuhu site and take part in the full manufacturing process of mattresses and related products. You will rotate through multiple work centres, gaining hands‑on experience with raw materials, machinery, and assembly tasks in a supportive, safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform manual production tasks and operate machinery in line with safety and quality standards.
• Follow operational and safety procedures for all production activities.
• Ensure raw materials and finished goods meet quality specifications and complete quality checks.
• Maintain accurate production records and housekeeping standards.
• Report hazards, equipment breakdowns, and non‑conformances promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training, OHS improvement activities, and job rotation as required.

Required profile

• Motivated, reliable team player who enjoys hands‑on work.
• Comfortable with manual handling and physical tasks.
• Strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and quality.
• Willingness to learn and work across multiple production areas.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Forklift licence (advantageous for some positions).
