About the role
The Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) Schoolwide Practitioner will work across schools in the Bay of Plenty region to strengthen behaviour support systems and improve learner outcomes. This is a non‑teaching, adult‑learning role focused on facilitating change, building relationships and fostering positive school cultures.
Key responsibilities
- Provide training and ongoing coaching to school leaders and schoolwide teams on PB4L frameworks.
- Design and implement consistent, sustainable behaviour support strategies across participating schools.
- Collaborate with teachers, whānau, and early‑learning centres to align home and school environments.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of behaviour initiatives on student wellbeing and achievement.
- Lead adult‑learning sessions, workshops and professional development events.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in education, psychology, special education or a related discipline.
- Experience working in both English‑medium and Kura Kaupapa Māori settings.
- Strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
- Proven track record of driving change through relationship‑building.
- Ability to work independently and travel between Taupō and Rotorua as needed.
Required skills
- Facilitation and adult‑learning techniques.
- Classroom and school‑wide behaviour management knowledge.
- Cultural competency, especially Māori perspectives.
