Manager Digital Workspace

About the role

The Ministry of Health is creating a new function to modernise how it works, collaborates and manages information. Reporting to the CIO, the Manager Digital Workspace will lead the evolution of a secure, intelligent digital environment powered by Microsoft 365, shaping strategy, governance and adoption across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the end‑to‑end strategy for the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and related collaboration tools.
• Set standards, optimise performance and ensure secure, well‑governed collaboration across the platform.
• Lead information‑management and compliance initiatives, aligning records‑management practices with the Public Records Act 2005.
• Manage identity (Entra ID), device (Intune) and access controls to balance flexibility with security, privacy and compliance.
• Champion adoption of digital tools and safe AI use, driving capability building and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in information management, digital workplace, or cloud/platform administration.
• Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder engagement and change‑delivery skills, with experience leading teams and driving enterprise platform adoption.
• Strong understanding of information‑management practices such as architecture, metadata, lifecycle and record‑keeping compliance.
• Ability to thrive in a newly established function, work with ambiguity and shape a role over time.

What we offer

• Permanent contract with a midpoint salary of $197,143 (NZD) dependent on experience.
