Lead Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Halter is seeking a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure every component in its supply chain meets strict quality and delivery standards. You will work closely with contract manufacturers in Asia and internal design teams to prevent and resolve quality issues for its innovative livestock‑monitoring hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Implement statistical process control (SPC) methods for critical parts and collaborate with suppliers to embed these controls in their process plans.
• Lead rapid sprint analyses after production or OQC failures, coordinating with design engineers to release shipments safely while applying risk‑mitigating actions.
• Update and maintain quality control documentation based on root‑cause analyses of component failures observed in the field.
• Audit new suppliers against Halter’s quality requirements and drive swift closure of any non‑conformances.
• Travel frequently between Auckland headquarters and supplier sites in China.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in quality management for high‑volume manufacturing, preferably with electromechanical products.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry standards.
• Proven track record of responding to and resolving supplier quality issues quickly and effectively.
