Finance Business Partner

About the role

The Finance Business Partner will work closely with Heads of Schools and senior leaders to provide high‑quality financial and business support rooted in Māori values. Based in Whakatāne, the role contributes to the institution’s growth and stewardship of resources.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with assigned Heads of School and National Programme Managers to deliver budgeting, forecasting and monthly reporting.
• Align financial activities with school and organisational objectives and monitor performance.
• Support operational decision‑making through financial analysis and business planning.
• Report on key metrics, assist with project delivery and procurement processes.
• Help develop and maintain contract and financial management systems.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting and financial analysis.
• Proactive, inquisitive approach with an understanding of the wider strategic context.
• Previous experience in a Business Partner or equivalent finance role.
• Relevant qualifications in finance, business or a related discipline.
• Commitment to working within a kaupapa Māori and Wānanga environment.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word.
