Director of Finance – Luxury Hotel

About the role

The Hyatt brand is seeking a Finance Business Partner who embraces agile principles and thrives in cross‑functional collaboration. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Finance will guide strategic decision‑making and financial planning to drive performance and profitability of the Park Hyatt Auckland.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, analyse variances and work with department managers on corrective actions.
• Lead accounting functions including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning and cash management; oversee year‑end close and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with New Zealand reporting obligations, maintain robust internal controls and monitor legislative changes.
• Mentor and coach the finance team, supervise IT and procurement functions, and foster a culture of innovation.
• Partner with hotel leadership to implement initiatives that enhance revenue and cost efficiency, and promote financial literacy across departments.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience as a Director of Finance in a 5‑star luxury hotel (international experience preferred).
• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Chinese language proficiency is a plus.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
