Diesel Technician – Truck Service Workshop

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Diesel Technician to join a busy truck service workshop in New Plymouth. The role involves servicing, repairing and inspecting a range of heavy trucks, using the latest diagnostic equipment and brand tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, repairs, inspections and pre‑delivery inspections (PDI) on diesel trucks.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic and scan tools and carry out corrective actions.
• Maintain high standards of customer care and ensure vehicles are road‑safe and compliant.
• Accurately complete paperwork, job cards and manage workload efficiently.
• Train and mentor junior workshop staff as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Diesel Technician with a clean heavy‑truck licence.
• Ability to work autonomously, be productive and lead by example.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail and a can‑do attitude.
• Team player who can contribute to a positive workshop environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and scan equipment.
• Experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
