Commercial Finance Business Partner

About the role

As a Commercial Finance Business Partner you will join Deloitte’s national Finance team in Auckland, supporting the Technology & Transformation business unit. You will provide commercial finance expertise, turning data into insights that guide strategic decisions and drive project performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models, budgets, forecasts and reporting for technology and transformation projects.
• Track project milestones, monitor expenditure and ensure compliance with Deloitte’s financial policies and governance.
• Apply revenue recognition principles and maintain accurate engagement financials.
• Establish, monitor and report on key performance indicators to improve project outcomes.
• Identify and implement process improvements in project accounting and reporting.
• Support engagement teams with reconciliations, billing milestones and executive‑level updates.
• Assist the T&T CFO and COO with financial analysis, including timesheet analytics, rate reviews and work‑in‑progress monitoring.
• Lead monthly account reviews and contribute to annual planning and quarterly forecasting cycles.
• Produce regular and ad‑hoc reports, flag financial risks and ensure timely issue escalation.

Required profile

• Relevant finance qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent).
• Experience in commercial finance within a professional services or technology environment.
• Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and influence decision‑making.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
