CNC Operator

About the role

Rocket Lab’s Machine Shop is looking for a skilled CNC Operator to produce high‑precision parts for rockets and satellites. You will work with state‑of‑the‑art CNC equipment, turning engineering designs into flight‑ready hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture components for rockets and satellites using CNC machinery.
• Perform all machine‑setting tasks, including vice and chuck change‑overs.
• Set work coordinate systems, load tools, and conduct measurements.
• Monitor cutting conditions and make real‑time adjustments.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and compliance.
• Maintain CNC equipment to ensure continuous production.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• High level of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Adherence to standardized processes and thorough record‑keeping.
• Experience in aerospace, aviation, motorsports, marine or similar sectors is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Fanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi CNC controls.
• CAD design competency.
• Experience machining stainless steel and composite materials.
