Civil Supervisor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to lead daily site operations for a range of infrastructure projects across New Zealand. You will be responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and programme adherence while developing the skills of your crew.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily site activities, from toolbox talks to hands‑on crew supervision.
• Maintain crew safety, productivity and adherence to project schedules.
• Mentor and upskill team members through practical guidance.
• Read and interpret plans, resolve on‑site issues, and meet performance targets.
• Liaise with clients, contract managers and other site teams.
• Keep documentation accurate and ensure equipment is well maintained.

Required profile

• Minimum three years NZ‑based supervisory experience in civil construction.
• Hands‑on background in earthworks, drainage, precast or in‑situ concrete.
• Practical, no‑nonsense approach to health and safety.
• Strong eye for quality and comfort with associated paperwork.
• Confident reading of plans, scopes and schedules.
• Full Class 1 driver licence.
• Willingness to mentor junior staff and flexibility to travel or stay away as required.
