Casual Trainer & Programme Developer (Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced paramedicine professional to join our team in New Zealand as a Casual Trainer and Programme Developer on a contract basis. The role focuses on creating and delivering high‑quality first‑aid and emergency‑response training that is practical, evidence‑based and tailored to the local environment. You will work closely with the National Quality Training Manager and operational teams to ensure the curriculum meets current NZ guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop first‑aid and emergency‑response training programmes, including practical modules on stretcher use, patient movement and scene management.
• Create, review and update training materials to align with New Zealand standards and industry best practice.
• Deliver classroom and hands‑on training sessions, as well as practical assessments, when required.
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure training content is evidence‑based, engaging and compliant.

Required profile

• Paramedic qualification with operational experience.
• Strong knowledge of first‑aid education and emergency‑response training.
• Proven experience writing or developing training programmes and assessment material.
• Understanding of stretcher operations, patient handling and practical rescue techniques.
• Relevant qualifications such as US6400, US6401, US6402, US4098, US29321, US25411 or US25412.
