Automotive Technician (Full‑Time)

About the role

Rutherford & Bond Toyota is seeking a dedicated Automotive Technician to join its Porirua service team on a full‑time basis. You will work on a variety of vehicle systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and maintenance of vehicle systems.
• Carry out repairs and mechanical work on a range of cars, including hybrid models.
• Test‑drive vehicles to identify and diagnose defects.
• Collaborate closely with service advisors to communicate findings and recommendations.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Solid work ethic and willingness to tackle challenges.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Valid New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Minimum NZQA Level 4 automotive qualification and at least one year of relevant experience.

Required skills

• WOF certification (or willingness to obtain it).
• Knowledge of hybrid vehicle technology.
