Associate Professor – Behavioural Information Systems

About the role

The University of Auckland invites applications for a research‑active Associate Professor in Behavioural Information Systems. The successful candidate will join the Business School and the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management, contributing to both research excellence and high‑quality teaching.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead a sustained research programme in behavioural IS, with emphasis on emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital sustainability.
• Publish in top IS journals (e.g., MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research) and present at leading conferences.
• Secure competitive research funding and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects.
• Supervise postgraduate research students, particularly PhD candidates.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses covering systems analysis, data analytics, digital transformation, enterprise systems and related topics.
• Integrate current research and industry practice into curricula and contribute to curriculum development.

Required profile

• Established international reputation with a strong, sustained publication record in leading IS journals.
• Demonstrated ability to attract research funding and active participation in major IS conferences.
• Experience supervising PhD and other postgraduate students.
• Proven record of high‑quality teaching and curriculum design.
