Assembly Operator

About the role

The Assembly Operator will join Waratah's Tokoroa factory to build tree‑harvesting attachments. The role focuses on safely installing purchased and manufactured components into pre‑assemblies or cast structures, ensuring high‑quality builds and steady production flow in line with Waratah standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all assembly tasks following safety standards, using lifting equipment and approved rigging methods.
• Follow digital work instructions to assemble components in the correct sequence, applying proper torque and fastening methods.
• Conduct in‑process checks for fit, alignment and defects, escalating any non‑conforming parts.
• Carry out daily preventative maintenance and routine tool checks, reporting faulty equipment.
• Meet daily production targets, maintain line flow, and support changeovers or training as needed.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams, providing feedback for continuous improvement.

• Strong commitment to safety and ability to report hazards, incidents and near‑misses.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow digital work instructions accurately.
• Capability to work to takt time, maintain a clean 5S workspace and meet production demands.
• Effective communication skills for teamwork with engineering, quality and production staff.
