Additional Teacher – Home-based (Rotorua)

About the role

We are seeking an Additional Teacher to work with a single student in their home in Rotorua. This fixed‑term, part‑time position supports the student’s individualized learning programme during school term time.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 10 contact hours per week of personalised instruction at the student’s home.
• Prepare lesson plans, resources and complete six hours of weekly planning and reporting.
• Collaborate with the student’s whānau, other teachers and support teams to monitor progress.
• Maintain accurate records of learning activities and outcomes.

Required profile

• Current New Zealand Teacher Registration and legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with students, families and colleagues.
• Supportive, well‑organised, flexible and able to engage a learner remotely.
• Basic computer literacy to use distance‑education platforms and reporting tools.

Required skills

• Computer literacy (basic use of educational software and online tools).
